The youths are meant to have values--by Philip Yeo, a ok guy, in power.
Now what he doesn't understand is that people want freedom and respect too.
He invited a PHD scholar for tea-and the scholar wanted to document and put up the meeting up in his blog.
What can be so wrong about that.Unless, the meeting is a dress down.
What about values, the youth did inform Philip Yeo about his desire, about his intent to do what he feels is a good thing for him, for his readership.
A grand meeting with someone like Mr Yeo, should be a well documented-- he felt.
Mr Yeo, is truely old fashioned, as he admits.
We do not live in a world, where old means wise. We live in a world, where people are open minded, willing to engage one another, with respect and tolerence.
As much as the young needs to respect the old..it must work vice-versa.
In this case, Mr Chen is a PHD scholar--where is the respect for him from Mr Yeo. Why shouldn't he respect his views and allow someone to do what he prefers.
Why talk about values to disparage him for his simple request.
What happens to Mr Chen now.
